Issues with the Dynojet Power Commander V on a 2012 Dyna Wide Glide
Please help! I am having some severe issues with the Power Commander V maps for my 2012 Dyna Wide Glide. This thing is dumping so much fuel into the system that my catalytic converter started glowing cherry red. The bike won't hardly run under load in any gear. I am experiencing a huge loss of power with this thing. Any ideas? Since it is the weekend I can't call Dynojet. I have tried multiple map options but with the same result. I am running a Screamin' Eagle Ventilator intake with it. No exhaust yet, but that is coming. I tried with the o2 sensors plugged in, and with the bypass and nothing seems to help. I worked on this for 5 hours yesterday. The only thing I can think of is that the maps are messed up, as the fuel and throttle charts don't match up anywhere close. It looks like cylinder 1 is running lean while cylinder 2 is running pig rich. That could be what is causing the very rough running situation, but I am not an expert here.

I unhooked it and she cracked off without any problems. I reinstalled the o2 sensors, went for a ride and all the problems were gone. My only guess is that the super heating of the cat is due to too much back pressure caused by the cat. I guess I will wait to install this thing after my new exhaust arrives and then I will see what happens. I might have to break down and just take it to the dealer for tuning.

if it is new and has a canned map in it, check and see if it has the right map,or it could be the wrong unit for the bike, but if the bike runs fine now you know that the problem is with the power commander it self. waiting to put the exhaust on is not going to help you will still have the problem.unless you had it programed for that exhaust in the first place
