I have a 2009 Electraglide Ultra Classic. Great bike, runs good. However, on a very occasional basis it goes to Check Engine and the bike goes into a governed low speed mode. I have checked fluids and can find no other reason. I read that the EFI monitors spark plug function so I replaced the plugs with the higher performance HD plugs and still have the problem. After I pull over I can turn the ignition off and on a few times and it will start and run fine. Any help would be appreciated as this could get ugly on a busy freeway or heavy traffic where 15 mph could be terminal. Thanks

 

Under what conditions does this happen? Check to see if the bike threw any codes. This should help:

If it happens when the bike is running hot, then it is going to "limp mode" Your dealer can turn off the parade mode on your bike if that is the problem.

Is your bike completely stock? Stage I?
