Anyone with experience on the Road King (and Softail) radio now available from HD...lists for $799. Feedback on quality, mounting problems, ability to quickly detach and basic look when mounted i.e. does it look too big and out of place? Thanks

 

You might like the looks of this radio. It will fit on the roadking. It is from m-c tunes. The color match runs 599.00 the black runs 579.00. Jerry

I looked at those options before adding a radio to my Roadking. With a bike that doesnt come factory with a radio there is alot to overcome. I felt that for the price however I could do something that would both look and function better. I feel that xm is the only way to go on a bike in that you can go across country and never have to change the channel, also the mounting size of a xm receiver is smaller than a head unit. If you have any questions regarding equipment or mounting feel free to ask.

 

But there's that monthly fee with XM. I know it's only $10 a month...but over a year that's some new chrome. And if you don't get to ride all that much the money might not be worth it. Don't get me wrong...I love XM radio. Had it in my truck but I'm not in it enough to pay the fees.

 

I'm thinking the XM radio would be a great way to go.

 

It really is if you're going to use it. The comedy channels are almost worth the money by themselves.
