Exclamation Starter Relay

Can the starter relay on my 00 fxst cause the starter to engage while riding? My starter is new because the old one fried because of this problem. I ahve also replaced the handle bar controls and ignition switch. The problem did not happen again til the other day. I hit the kill switch and then restaeted it while I was coasting and it hasen"t happened again yet.

Sorry but I am not old school enough and do not have manuals for your's but understand the newer ones which are not a lot different then cars. Since it's the positive side of the battery going to the starter solenoid. If it is cutting on something is cutting the start relay on to apply 12+ to the starter. It's not a grounded wire. Either the switch on the bar or were ever your starter button is bad or The start relay is bad (broken inside) or the spring on the solenoid that pulls the large contacts in on the starter that also pulls in your starter gear.
