Default Big trouble in little China..

Well, maybe. I figured one day i would need help worthy of a post, and here it is. I searched and nothing really helped, hence my post

Today I decided to install apes on my 05 FXSTDI. Believe it or not, it wasn't terribly difficult at all. I disconnected the battery then went to work. After running the new t/i, clutch and brake cables, I weaseled the wiring through the bars with the extensions already affixed. Plugged them into the harnesses, hooked up the battery and tested functions of the signals, hazards, horn and hi/lo beam...all checked out so I disconnected the battery and finished the project.

Once complete, re connected the battery and went to start. Wouldn't start, forgot to add gas (dummy light on)...added gas (dummy light off). Still continued to NOT start. I had to scratch my head....then noticed, hrmmm....the engine light isn't coming on then off for me to try and start it. wtf? the fuel pump isn't making any sound. peeled tank back a bit, looked at wiring harnesses, wiring in general, the fuse(s) and everything looked "okay" to me. Pulled off the center console, everything "looked" good there too. Still nothing. tried disconnecting the battery for about 5 minutes, repeat start cycle...no fuel pump.

Honestly, I don't have a clue where to start past what I have already done.

Pull the plug on top of tank out and check that the pins are straight and not bent on the tank itself.
Seen a few Softails with bent pins there and fuel pump not running after owner has taken tank off.

Thanks for the tip. I'll check it, but the tank was never fully taken off. I don't have the proper crimps to fasten the x-over fuel line back on, so it wasn't removed.

Tested all fuses, all have power into and out of them except the fuel pump. Guess I will have to locate one of these clamps and actually pull the tank today. Anyone know where they can be purchased other than Harley themselves?

System relay that powers up the EFI fuse gets it's power from the White/black wire from the right hand side controls.

Check you wiring on that side as that is probably where the issue is.

Just always remember as a long time Aircraft mechanic if you have problems after doing some Maintenance go back and check what you just did. I bet as previous (scotty ) has suggested go to the wiring in the bars you just installed. Good Luck.
