Hi I am new to Harley. The dealer I got my 09 Sportster from is trying to tell me I have to ride more than 20 miles in one direction ( I ride about 15 miles to work) to keep the battery charged. I was told they put a new battery in it when I bought it, but they didn't want to warrenty it after 3 months. I told them if it was a new HD battery it should still be under warrenty. They so kindly said they were going to buy me a new battery but it would take a week to get it in. The HD dealer is 5 miles away.
The battery has had a trickle charger on it since I got it, their suggestion.
I have never had this kind of battery problem before,,,are these people blowing smoke. I just look like a gray haired grannie ' I am tired of having this dealer lie to me. I spent $14000 there, you would think they would be a bit nicer.
Can anyone let me know about the battery usage of a 2009 1200L?

Do you have any way to test the battery? A meter?
