Default Smart security won't start

Hi guys. I'm having a problem. Nice day to get my bike out of starage, and it won't start. Blinkers are flashing like the security is holding it back. Tried my other fob, same thing. Tried a new battery, still flashing blinkers. Entered the pin (last five of my vin), still lights flashing. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Sorry. It's an '09 Road King. I can't find my owners manual, but I do have a service manual. I believe the last five digits is the default pin, correct?

CALL THE DEALER to find out what the factory security code was. Sometimes the dealer changes them to their own code, for just such reasons. Never heard that the code was the last 5 of VIN. I know that mine wasn't! Get a manual and program the security code you want, after you get it going. I don't have my manual handy but if you need the procedure PM me & I'll get it to you.

Thanks Jeff. Evidently the battery just needed to warm up after pulling it out of the freezer. Tried it after supper, and it popped right off. When I did the on, off, on, off, on, left blinker, left blinker, right blinker, I thought it was supposed to display the current code. Did I do the sequence wrong? Can't find anything on it in the service manual. Man, I really need to find my owners manual. Thanks again for the help

I found this. I had the kill switch in the run position and I didn't go fast enough. I'm going to try it again tomorrow, so if this happens to me again, at least I'll have the code to get it started.

To reset the code with a HFSM equipped bike, you will:
1) Have your key fob near the bike
2) Set your kill switch to off
3) Quickly turn the ignition switch on, off, on, off, on
4) Immediately press and let go of the left turn signal switch twice (press, let go, press, let go)
5) Press and let go the right signal once
6) Current PIN number will be displayed on odometer
7) Change the PIN by pressing the left signal until the desired number is reached
8) Press the right signal to cycle to the next number and repeat step 7
9) Turn ignition off when 5 digit PIN is satisfactory
NOTE: Steps 3 through 5 must be completed within two seconds of each other.

Now you can have the bike armed, and disarm with the PIN (example PIN will be 25522 in the following steps):
1) Ignition switch to on
2) Immediately press both turn signals at the same time (red key light on you speedometer will flash rapidly if done right)
3) Press and let go the left signal 2 times
4) Press and let go the right signal once
5) Press and let go the left signal 5 times
6) Press and let go the right signal once
7) Repeat for each of the last three numbers of the PIN (left 5 times, right once, left 2 times, right once, left 2 times, right once)
8) Red key on speedo will stop blinking if done right (security has been disarmed)
NOTE: Steps 2 through 7 must be completed in quick succession of each other.
