PC V Question

Yes it is possible to adjust your fuel tables with a PCV, but unless you have some way of measuring the result of the change, you're gonna be shooting in the dark. The AutoTune option is a good way to go. With the AutoTune you can actually see the results of any fuel table adjustments that you make.

I have the PCV for my 2012 dyna WG, and I am wondering about the auto tune for it and if its worth the 420 bucks..
Thanks...Kevin

The AutoTune (AT) is not some magic box that will automatically tune your bike to perform its best, whether that is for fueleconomy, all out performance (max TQ/HP) or something in between. You still need to program the targets that the AT shoots for.
What the AT does do is makes adjustments on-the-fly in an attempt to hit the AFR (Air/Fuel Ratio) targets that are pre-programmed into your map. And it does a pretty good job at that.
But you still need to determine what the AFR targets are that you want to reach. Most maps have these targets pre-programmed for you. You can change the AFR targets and the AT will make the necessary changes to hit those new targets in real time as you're riding.
What's nice with the AT is that you can download the trim data with the PCV software and see what adjustments (trims) the AT is making. That way you can make changes to the map based on real performance data rather than simply changing the fuel tables in a trial and error method. Although selecting the AFR targets is still a trial and error process unless you rely on a canned map (which will already have those targets) or determine the best AFR for your own desired results with a dynotune.
For me, it's well worth the money as I like to play around with my bike and I use the AT as a tuning aid for any changes I might make. If you don't plan on any future changes or don't want to be experimenting with tuning, then the AT becomes of less value, in my opinion.
Hope that answers your questions.
