EFI tuner numbers - throttle position
I am sure FuelMoto will be getting back with me next week, but I am curious about something after installing a EFI (USB III) Module on my 2006 Ultra.
Fuel economy dropped substantially. The guys at FuelMoto wanted me to check my throttle position reading. Below are the readings and in layman terms what do they mean?
Throttle Position:
Ignition off=0;
Ignition on=3;
Idle=3;
2K RPM=7;
3K RPM= 10;
There were some other readings on the power commander software:
Fuel Change and Duty Cycle, I logged them for grins:
At idle, fuel change=7 and duty cycle=4;
at 2K RPM fuel change=7 and duty cycle=7;
at 3k rpm fuel change=12 and duty cycle=10.
My issue:
This is a low mileage bike (6500 miles on it when I bought it around Labor Day - today it has about 8100 miles on it). It was bought from a dealer. Runs well. But it appeared it had a tuner on it before I got as there were the electrical ties around the ECM. So I don't know if the ECM was modified.
In totally stock config - fuel economy is about 42MPG (over all);
With screamin eagle air breather, fuel economy drops to 36;
with screamin eagle air breather and fuel moto efi USBIII tuner, fuel economy remains at 36.
Do notice that with the tuner in place, there is a slight hesitation in starting (barely noticeable, but noticeable).
