All right you guys...........

Found my box terminal on negative battery had a split in it and created a loose connection. One of the basics I usually check first. My bad. But it confirms the code 16 battery voltage.

Charging system is fine, checks out ok.
Battery is older than I usually go, with the split terminal, I am picking up a fresh battery this afternoon.

Engine light is OUT!
I took the opportunity to bring the laptop in the driveway (strange working on a bike with a laptop) and progressively altered my powercommander MAP to reduce popping. Seems they have a lot of files but no getting around needing to tweak them. Acceleration has improved a lot. Reduced popping but no getting around some popping when you slam the throttle plates shut in the 1,000 to 2,500 rpm range.

Engine light is OUT, engine runs and shakes the way a Harley is supposed to............I am very happy.

This site is AWESOME. Thanks again everyone.

glad to hear you got her going. sometimes the simplest things can cause the most incredibly crazy problems, especially dealing with electronics. You might want to venture over to the electrical/ecm section and ask the power commander experts about tuning your ride. there are quite a few folks on here with a plethora of information on the power commander units. Also, from what I understand Power commander themselves are notorious for helping people over the phone. I think Dr VTWIN has a lot of good info on power commanders as well.
