Default Help needed on 6th gear indicator and cruise control

I had new cams installed on my 2010 Ultra. A bike shop here locally did the job. They put in an S&S 551 gear drive cam kit. Also installed a power cammander tuner and did a dyno tune. The bike runs great! Real happy with the results but now the 6th gear indicator only works intermitantly. Same goes for the cruise control. Sometimes it will light up when I shift into 6th If I'm going slow, say at about 50 mph or less. Other times it won't come on at all. When it does come on it won't stay on. After I hit about 60 mph or more it goes back out. The cruise drops out along with it. When the 6th gear indicator doesn't come on the cruise won't work either. I took it back to the shop that did the work yesterday and he says that it must me something other than what he did. It was working perfect ever since I've had the bike until they installed the cams and tuner. He won't man up and admit that he may have caused it, and look at it so I'm frustrated as to what to do to get it fixed. Does anyone have any ideas or had this happen? Is it just a setting on the ECM or tuner that needs changed? I won't ever go back to that shop again.

the first thing I would do is remove the power commander from the equation. It will run a little rough but needs to be tested without the PC in place. Pull it off, take it down the road being easy with it and check your cruise and 6th gear indicator.

Check your clutch switch. Sixth gear indicator will not come on if it thinks clutch is pulled in. Same with cruise.

You know, I did notice that at one point when I got the 6th gear to light up and got the cruise turned on that when I went over a bump it all crapped out again. ??? So maybe a switch on clutch or front brake?

Default update from power commander

I wrote to Dynojet power commander about my issue with the 6th gear light and cruise control and found out that there is in fact an issue with the firmware for the PCV.
In case anyone else runs into this problem, I thought I would share it with everyone. Going to try this as soon as I can find a laptop to borrow lol.

Gary,

Thank you for your inquiry. We appreciate your interest and support of our products.
There is a known issue with the latest firmware on the PCV. The fix is very simple either for you, or this shop.
In the Power Commander software go to Power Commander Tools/Configure/Harley ECM Data. Uncheck the box next to Diagnostic Port Enabled. Click OK. Click Send Map.
That should take care of the problem.

Default Problem fixed!

Well I borrowed a laptop and made the setting change in the PCV and it fixed the problem. Very simple to change. Thanks for the inputs and hope this thread may help someone else that may run into the same problem. If anyone reads this that is from the Omaha, NE area, don't take your bike to Clifford Cycles!!
