have 08 elec clasic when i pull the clutch starter comes on?

first off...thanks for the feed-back...

after i start the scoot, and it's running, i engage the clutch and hear the starter whine. disengage the clutch and it stops? engage and the started whines...etc.
it's an 08 ultra classic, with a leham trike kit. thanks tj
