That speed is just fine for your motor! Do not reduce it below that. The reason is that as crankshaft speed is reduced it becomes erratic and puts high loads into the engine. Each piston slows down on compression and then accelerates on firing and that repeats every crank revolution. You want your engine to last a long time? Leave it alone!
