bought 2007 streetbob used. V&H slipons, stock air cleaner. i added screamin eagle air cleaner and PCIIIusb. while installing PCIIIusb, found velcro under ecm. i assume previous owner had PCIII or similar tuner. my question is this. can i find out if bike ever had harley dealer installed stage 1 download? how do i find out? from what i understand from reading on forum, stage 1 download makes bike run richer, so would my adding PCIIIusb am i now too rich or does my PCIIIusb override stage 1 download if bike did have it? I'm using map provided by dynojet, never had bike dyno'ed but want to. bike runs good but i know it could be better. thanks in advance for any help.

 

I would assume that if your scooter had a Harley Stage One Download done there would be a service record listed on the scooter that your local dealer would be able to find by checking previous service records using the VIN number of the scooter. Generally his search would include all services done by all dealers ... just my .02 cents worth though.

 

See if the rev limiter was raised. Stock is 5,500.
I believe Dealer Download ups it to 6,200
If you hit it and it sputters you do not have the DL. (of course only with a load on the bike) Try 2nd gear on a long stretch of road and don't go too crazy. you'll know when you hit it at 5500.
That's how I checked my 09SG because the dealer said it had to be checked with the Digital Tec.
