Default Larger throttle body

Has anyone out there added a larger throttle body in the mix of changing pipes, airbox and SERT? I've only seen ads for Kuryakn's Wild Thing bigger bore throttle body. If the bike runs better with more air passing through, wouldn't this improve performance more? Any tech's with real knowledge?

Increasing the size of a throttle body does work on motors that can handle it. Luckily, if you go too big, EFI bikes are more forgiving than carbureted bikes because of the way fuel is delivered.

I think the Wild Thing is part of a Kuryakn 95" build. I don't know if they use anything like a PCIII or SERT.

I'd like to see a 95 "cc" Road Glide. Is this a retro-fit with a law mower engine? 0-60 in... never! [sm=lol.gif]

Your engine is capable of moving a certain amount of air. A 1450 engine turning at 4000 rpm is capable of moving approx 102 cubic ft per minute. With no restrictions. In a real world it's not gonna happen. This is determined by the bore, stroke, and rpm of the motor.

What restricts that air movement through the motor is the breather intake, the filter element, the throttle body, the throttle plate, the heads, the valves, and the exhaust. by adjusting any and all of these you can increase the performance of the motor.

Screaming Eagle has a 50mm throttle body with high flow injectors. This is a 4mm increase over the stock 06. I believe the Kuryakn's a 57mm.

Changing anything out on a EFI will require tuning.

It appears that there wouldn't be much gained for a $500. + outlay.........check that one off the list! Thanks for the feedback.
