My bike just started the same symptoms, very intermittent shut down, like I hit the kill switch. . Local indy that I trust strongly, suggested starting with the ignition relay behind the left side cover. This was after assuring that my battery cables were tight. Ignition relay failure seems to be a very common problem. Hope that's all it is for me.

My 2000 FB would shut off and it ended up being a broken wire for the bank angle sensor. My bike is different than yours in that your sensor is built into the TSSM. I don't know what the failure rate is on the internal bank angle sensors, but it's fairly common on the external ones. But the logic is still the same. There's few circuits that can kill the bike and have it restart right away from resetting the ignition. Hope this helps.

Default Still having shut down problems with no repair success

Still having the same problem. Bike just shuts off while riding. Always will start back up right away with no problem. I just pull in the clutch while moving and restart. Have replace the systems relay and the battery being sure that contacts were squeaky clean. No fault codes are stored. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

My friend was having the same shutdowns on his '07 Wideglide. Everything would just shut off without any warning. The one time, he was almost rear-ended by a truck.

I did online research for him and found where someone mentioned a problem with a wiring harness that runs down past the swingarm. We checked it out and sure enough, there was a thick bunch of wires running in front and right next to it. After feeling around in there, we felt something loose and pulled it out. That's when we realized it was a piece of "thin" plastic friction plate that the factory installed between the harness and the swingarm. It was snapped onto the vertical frame rails but this one broke in half and one side slid away. He pulled the other half out and found an inch long area on the harness that was rubbed through so he re-wrapped the wiring and wire tied it so it's not rubbing any more.

The bike hasn't shut off for a couple thousand miles now and that's by far the longest it's gone since the problem started.

O have an 09 Ultra and had a similar problem, it was a bad cable right at the 40 amp main power cable. You might look at your main power cable in that area and see if it has a break.
