I recently had my battery disconnected and gas tank partially removed. After putting it back together I noticed the red security light was on for a few seconds after turning on the ignition, which I don't recall happening before. I checked for codes and got U1016. I cleared it but haven't had a chance to ride yet to see if it comes back. The bike didn't have any issues and everything seems to work. 04 Road King by the way. What does it mean, and why did it happen?

 

Anyone have any idea what I'm talking about?

 

I had kind of the same problem when my load equalizer for my led sigs crapped out. I sent them back to Biketronics so in the meantime my sigs flashed quicker and the security light stayed on. When I got the new one back and installed it the red light would come on for a few seconds after the bike started. Now it doesn't do that at all. Maybe something in the system has to reset itself.
Probably not much help but if everything works I wouldn't worry about it.
