Right after having the bike dyno tuned, it ran GREAT! No decel popping at all. Now the popping has re-emerged and seems to be getting worse. How can that be? Nothings changed.

I rode it today and just about everytime I rolled off the throttle, pop..pop,pop...pop,pop,pop!

Do I need to drag out the tuner?

I'm in favor of limiting carbs. Less filling and tastes great.

 

Check for either an intake or exhaust leak.

 

Saw a post about setting the spark plug gap to spec and it helped!

Vic, I just passed 10K this past weekend. I didn't seem to get the popping on Saturday as bad. Could temp./humidity affect it?

BTW, good suggestions, guys. I'll check for leaks and the plugs. (time for service, anyway)

Temp and humidity might effect popping. This summer I totally tune out all decel popping. But now that it's much colder and it's been raining cats and dogs for 12 days straight, I noticed when I took the bike out Saturday night during a short break in the rain, a little popping is back. May need to tune a little more.

 

Yeah, I get popping too........had the bike dyno tuned & stage 1 done at 1000 miles now a few months later it pops when run up to 4000rpm + and roll off.....any ideas? I am taking it back to the dealer to have them tweak it a bit tomorrow.
