Default Model A Tail light issue

Just got a Model A tail light set up to install on my Custom Softail. When I went to install it the first thing I noticed was that there were only 2 wires coming from the light. My old light had 3,and 3 wires going into..I'm assuming, running, front brake and rear brake.. I have a running light and a rear brake light, but don't have a connection for the front brake light. I called BareKnuckle Choppers were I purchased the light, they said just use your rear brake and don't worry about it. Great !!! Thanks... Any ideas on how to get the front brake light to work ?? I tried just splicing the brake light wires together, front and back..but to no avail. Also the bulbs are 1156's..dont know if that has anything to do with it..
