I'm looking for some help with my charging system. I have tested everything that I can and still get nothing. I have 0 to 0.2 Ohm from the regulator housing to ground. I replaced the factory Regulator with a new one. I have good AC Volts from the Stator. It starts great after I charge it of course. New battery. I have 1.0 and .7 Ohms at the stator plug. I can read hertz but get no amps with the multimeter. I'm starting to think the stator is fried. 2002 Dyna FXDX.

 

The stator puts out A/C volts, unplug the stator and put your leads in the plug coming out of the primary, set your meter to read A/C voltage, you should be like 30 volts at 2000 RPM. You can also check each lead from the stator for a short to ground.

 

I'm getting 30 Volts AC @ 2000 RPMs out of the stator, but I'm still not getting any charge to the battery. I have 1.0 and .7 Ohms at the stator plug.

 

Then your stator is fine. If your stator is putting out and you're getting no charge at the battery, it's either the regulator of a bad wire between the regulator and the battery.
