My red oil light sometimes flickers with the ignition on, but goes out after I turn on the engine. No other idiot light flickers, and none of my lights flicker either. Anything to worry about? Or is that how they get there name? Oil level is fine.
Your oil light should come on at startup and then go out. I don't know about the flickering. Next time you start it up check the oil pressure guage to see what it is doing when the light flickers. The light would coincide with oil pressure also. If your level and pressure is fine then it might be a faulty sensor, or it could just be a loose connection and that is why the light flickers instead of coming on then going out.
With power on and ther engine not running the light should be on steady. If not you have a bad sender, wire or other composent/connection. Then when you start the bike it should go out.
The light does go out and stays out after the engine is on. Its still on warranty, I'll just have them fix it went its convenient. I don't like messing with electrical problems. Thanks.
