Default TSSSM problems No Start

I have been on the this in the touring forum all morning and have made some head way diagnosing the problem. Now I haven't the foggiest idea how to fix it.
If I hold down the button on the fob with the ign off a slow blinking red key shaped light appears on the rt side of the odometer. If I push the button twice the key light will turn off. through all this the turn signals blink and and turn indicators on the dash blink. so it seems the fob is working to dome degree. When I turn the ign on the red key light comes on after about 3 -5 sec and stays on and the starter does not actuate. I don't hear the fuel pump bring the system up to pressure.

I did the diag and got the code U1064 loss of TSM/TSSM Serial Data. Looked in the troubleshooting section of the HD manual and see the very thing that is going on under starter doesn't operate, buth it gives no solutions for the problem. Went to the HD shop, spoke with SM he was helpful but could only confirm that is is the TSSM and that it may need replacing.

So is there anything I can do here at the house to remedy this problem.

Did you:

1. replace the fob battery
2. re-set the TSSM?

3. did you try the TSSM password relearn? See new TSSM install procedure.

TSSM reset:

step # 1. move handle bar kill switch to off position

step # 2. turn your ignition key: on-off, on-off then on

step # 3. hit the left turn signal twice.
your turn signals and indicator light will flash 1 - 3 flashes

step # 4. hit the right turn signal once.
turn signals and indicator light will flash once.

step # 5. hit the right turn signal once.
turn and indicator signals will flash twice.

step # 6. hit right turn signal once.
turn and indicator signals will flash three times.

step # 7. hit left turn signal once.
turn and indicator signals flash to indicate error code
(see error code thread)

step # 8. to now clear codes, hit left turn signal and hold down for 6 seconds until confirmation.
turn and indicator signals flash twice.

step # 9. turn the ign switch to off

Well I thought I would check all the fuzzes in the main box. Low and behold the ign fuze was blown. I replaced it, switched on the Ign hear a little snap, checked it and it was blown. I must have a short in the wires in the tank do to my reinstall. well that gives me some where to look.
