Power Vision Information Thread
#6794
Sorry to interject here but this is one burning/nagging issue that I am experiencing with my PV2. Are any of the you running with either the PV1 or PV2 experiencing freezing issues even if your the engine is not running or just sitting in the garage? I have had this issue happen a few times while sitting in the garage, engine not even running and the first symptom is, all the data on the gauge pages disappears and after a few more key presses, the entire PV2 locks up with no response from any more key presses. About the only way to recover is to power cycle.
Also another interesting observation is with the PV2 connected via USB only to your computer and WinPV apps running, if you run the "Exit PC Link Mode" via one of the PowerVision menu, it relinquishes or releases the PV2 from the WinPV apps, & if you go to the one of the gauge display and select one of the vehicle signal, e.g., “PV VBAT” it will normally display about 4.74VDC. Keep it there for about five to 10 minutes and the data on the display will disappear and if you attempt to go to any of the menu/selections, the PV2 will froze on you.
This is not even connected to the bike where it may pick up any RF interference as was being suggested on some other postings. I contacted DynoJet support about this issue and they recommend/suggested a full recovery which I did and results sadly were the same as prior to the full recovery process. DynoJet is recommending I send them my unit for further analysis/diagnostics.
My question to the PV owners/users of this forum is, are you or some of you are experiencing this same issue? If you do please respond to my post and see if you can run the same test that I did above and let me know.
Thanks,
Dan
Update 2/8/15: Talked to DynoJet and they run the same tests I did & results were same that I got. They have submitted to engineering for review.

Been trying to get a map dialed in. At warmup my afr would shoot down to 10.6 and would almost stall the motor. I lessened the warmup enrichment kind of going off of my map when my bike was an 88 ci. It ran exceptionally well. Do you guys think this is too low now?
Also I set up a afr table with some smoothing. This is what I have now. I don't care about mpg just power and a cooler motor. What do you think? Too rich?
Or is this better
This is what it was when it was an 88 (old map) . Now it's a 95 (with a new map)

A little help, please
I just got a PV and downloaded the WINPV utility, and have brought the PV unit up to date via my PC.
Total noob to this so I'm a little confused as to how to marry it to the bike and save a copy of the existing tune...the start up guide is really vague concerning this and I don't want to mess it up.
Can someone tell me a step by step how to do the initial marriage to my bike plus how to scan and save its original tune?
The bike was highly modified by the previous owner so I plan to use the canned HD map as a baseline.
I don't know if the PV database has anything close to it...and I'm not sure how to access 'preloaded files' on the PV unit anyway. I'm guessing they'll be accessible once I hook up to my ECM?
A little help anyone?

I got the bike (2006 wide glide) second hand and never really got much info on the build, just that it was all dealer mods...so I used the existing map part number to backtrack through the SE build catalog and I'm pretty sure its the 1550 HO build
Which is:
95 inch BB
forged pistons
screaming eagle heads w/manual compression release 10.5:1
Can't remember the SE cam off the top of my head here, but it was upgraded to S&S gear drive anyway and the equivalent I do remember looking up and is the S&S 585
I just switched from V&H big shots staggered to The supertrapp supermeg 2:1, hence the reason to retune...
plus I was having pre-det/knock issues already and an annoying stumble at city speeds so want to fatten up the mixture and retard the spark a bit. Nuthin' fancy.
I was planning on using the existing tune as a baseline and using the autotune feature to smooth things out, but if there are better tunes out there, that's good too, but as I said I'm new to EFI tuning so it's baby steps at this point.
I'm guessing that the unit will prompt me once I attach it to the bike...but like I said..the start guide isn't exactly helpful...it just tells me where the port is...nothing else.

No I got the PV from company up here in Canada at a substantial savings... about 200 bucks cheaper than going with fuelmoto.

displacement change
Have a 07 1200 Sportster, Hammer 560 cams installed, Bassini road rage 2 exhaust. stock heads. Auto tune module with wideband o2 sensors.
Displacement is 73.2 in original tune. Auto tune now reports displacement as 77.8. on active tune.Is this change the results of the cam and exaust change and is it normal?
Thanks, Jack
