If you leave your custom tune in, HD can tell real quick in the VE, AFR, timing and other tables. If you us the PV to set it back to original, I don't think HD has a way to tell that you had a custom tune.

If the original OEM tune is flashed with "Restore Original" it is restoring a mirror image of the original binary from before the PV was married. At the dealer level with Digital Technician they are reading back the calibration ID and simple read/write data, not the tables themselves. This would however be different on an engineering level at the MOCO.

When you send a PV tune to the ECM it overwrites the tune that is in there, including the calibration ID. However note you can also "edit" the cal ID in any PV tune

I would set them before. It doesn't change the Autotune Basic function one way or the other, don't think. When you do Basic autotune it changes all AFR to 14.6 while in auto tune mode. Once the Autotune is saved it will go back to the AFR table that is set in the tune you used to Autotune. It doesn't change the AFR table in the base map you use to do the autotune with.

You are correct regarding the AFR tables, the only thing the Auto Tune does is change the VE tables when you perform an Auto Tune session, which is the most important table to make your bike run efficiently.

I finished AT on my bike and sent my tune and a couple of log files to FM for Jamie to look at. He said it was good except in the 20-25 kpa range. According to Jamie there is a decel fuel cutoff that can make the AT lean out those too much. He said that was the only thing he saw on my tune that was out so he increased the VE's in some of the cells in that area. He told me to change the PV minimum kpa to 30 kpa to prevent it from doing that again if I did any more AT runs.
I plan to change out my head pipe for one that is decated later. Jamie said he would send me a new map to tune with when I did that. So I guess I am good to go till then. I will say that I love the way this thing runs!
