Did you look at the new gauge setup in FW 1142? They supposedly made some changes as per our long-time complaints about how the gauge array worked. There is now a "Themes" button that allows you to select "All" (same as always), "Digital Day," and "Digital Night." The last two provide only two 4x and two 6x digital gauges giving the same data between day and night. IOW if you set day 6x to specific gauges the night version will be the same.

I'll probably load both WinPV and FW 1142 today.
I did not check the new gauge setup yet. The embedded Autotune process brings up its own display with map and hit counter so I never tested the gauges. I will give them a look this week.

Perhaps a stupid question.. Question...

Why Does a Lower VE number (not sure what the level of measurement is.. I'm thinking it's a Percentage) lower the amount of fuel? I think I understand why but just want to confirm.

If the Volumetric Efficiency of a space is only at a certian percentage, you have to only give enough fuel to meet what your AFR is set to at a certian KiloPascal Measurement (and RPM.)

If this is the case... then why does my VE go down 2000 and 2250 EVERY TIME I make a tune using the log? It orginally started at 93 (i'm assuming percent) and now is down to 79..

I have a clicking in the front cylinder that I'm trying to confirm is a ping or not at 2000-2100 RPM... should I just set the VE to 100 at those RPMs or would chaning the AFR to a straight 13 also work to richen the whole band up?

This is My VE on the front cylinder now:

So got another question..

My tune came from fuel moto.

I'm looking at the Closed loop bias and it's at 700mV... does that mean that even though the ECU is thinking 14.6, the bike is actually shooting for somewhere in the realm of 14-13.8?

Thanks!

Your thinking is correct but the math is off a little. The Closed Loop Bias table adjusts or biases what the ECM thinks Closed Loop is... A CLB value of 450mv results in will target a AFR of approximately 14.68. A CLB setting of 700 would be approx 14.63. Normal range for setting the CLB table is 250 – 675. Don’t exceed 798 as this would exceed the operating range of the stock O2 sensors when running in closed loop mode

I have a question that may sound strange for you... Are you sure your O2 sensors are connected correctly? When I have seen reading that continually go down, several times it has turned out to be reversed O2 sensors. The system thinks it needs a change but is reporting on the wrong cylinder>

Also it would be helpful to know what the setup is and how many times has it gone down. Does it go down with each tuning run by the same amount? Has it stopped or continues to go down?

I don't think they are on the wrong cylinder (as I haven't changed them) however I will run the lines and make sure they are in the right spot.

I've pulled a log 6 times each time it does go down, however it's variable. This last time it pulled 10.3 percent out of 2250/15%TP (from 90% to 79.7)

I'll run again on my way home from work and see what I got.

Thanks for the help all.

Dennis, just wondering how to get the new PV software? I emailed DJ but I have not heard back, and I guess i can't PM you because I don't have enough posts.
My email is jbrushoe@digitalpath.net

Thank you
Jim

OK,

Did got a log when I got home today. The VE went up this time.. but just barely to 79.7..

What's the Spark hit count?????
I ask because there are stupid numbers there.. in the thousands.
EX: 30KpA at 2000RPM there is 2644 counts, but spark knock on both cylinders is 0.

Hits is an indication of how much time you spend in that part of the grid - in this case 30Kpa@ 2000RPM. High number is good, 0 for spark knock means there was none detected, also good.
