I have a 2004 Ultra. From what I understand, I think I can only use tunes for 2002-2005. 2006 introduced O2 sensors, EITMS and a couple of other things, and 2008 and newer are usually throttle by wire.

I have a question. I have a 2004 UltraClassic with Screamin' Eagle Stage 1 Air Cleaner and Rinehart true dual exhaust. The only tune that Dynojet has on their site for this set up is a 2006. Could I use that tune or would my ECU be confused over the settings in this tune?

Thanks all.

Can anyone tell me what changing the engine displacement does, Im guessing that you can raise or lower the entire fuel curve with this setting? I have a map were the displacement is set higher than the engine it was done for and it seems to be rich across the board, I was going to lower the displacement to get it in the ballpark, what do you guys think?
Thanks...

I would believe that it does. In order to maintain what is in the AFR table, vs the volumes of the cylinders, you would have to raise or lower the entire curve. You could also change what is in the VE tables to pretty much accomplish the same thing. Right now, your entire AFR for the engine is lower than what the ECM thinks it should be. The ECM thinks you have a larger engine so it throws more fuel into the intake so now your smaller engine is running very rich.

Thank you much for the tutorial. It helped a lot as to what to look for.

I am tweaking my current tune little by little. I upped the AFR in the AFR table by .2 pts for the cruising ranges but left the rest alone. I will take it out for a ride tomorrow and see how things are.

I looked at the 2006 tables for the configuration that matches my bike and the tables, thought similar, have AFRs that are about .3-.4 pts above my AFRs. the VE tables are close for the fronts, but totally different on the rear cylinders. The VE tables on the 2006 are similar for front and rear and mine are way different. Probably as a result of the dynos sensor not reading the rear cylinder exhaust correctly. I was thinking just for the heck of it, copying the tables from the 2006 into my bike and see how it runs.

What is tuning? Part science, part guessing and part experimentation, RIGHT?

If you have it available it will be found in the gears folder.
