Default Power Vision stuck at Dynojet Screen

This has been resolved. Thank you Dan at Dynojet!!

I was doing a Firmware update on my Power Vision and my computer crashed part way through. The unit now just powers up to the Dynojet screen and stays there. It is no longer recognized to when plugged into the computer.

Dynojet is extremely slow responding to their tech support. The tech had me put it in recovery mode and do the system update in recovery mode. It did that update, but is still not being recognized when not in recovery mode.

Is there anything else I can do? The system update said on its screen that I could do a Full System Recovery to restore the Power Vision. Any idea how this is done?

The unit may not be covered under warranty since I purchased it on eBay. I only had the unit four days. I am trying to work with the seller on this and he has calls into Dynojet since he was working on other issues he has had with their products. He has been working with Dynojet engineers on PCV and PV issues. This unit was supposedly a warranty replacement that he had done because the previous unit didn't work properly.

I haven't even had a chance to plug it into my bike and use it yet.

I put it in recovery mode and it just sits there and will not communicate with PV updater or computer. So basically I'm pretty hosed up right now.

Anyone know of a solution for this???? I've googled around and found nothing...

My PV did the same thing. Computer crashed halfway through the update. Have you had any luck getting it fixed? The post before this one is from me on the issue.

Thanks.

This sounds like pure BS from your dealer, and it makes them look either stupid or dishonest. If the AFR is so lean that it would destroy the plugs in 5k miles you would have noticeable performance issues, and if so they should fix the source of the problem in warranty. If they charged you for the plugs I would call HD tech support and protest, as this isn't right.

Only change is bought a set of cvo slipon's for my 11 RG. The tech recomended a stage 1 up grade. Im not interested in playing to much. Power is good enough for me, maybe could use a little more when rideing 2 up. Would the pvc with auto tune be a good plug and play up grade for me? I may install a after market air filter not sure at this time. Tks
I would buy a PCV and an AC from Fuel Moto, and you should get a discount if you buy both together. With the PCV you'll also get a map installed in the PCV for your setup. I wouldn't recommend installing a tuner without changing the AC, although you could do it. FM may not have a map for a setup including the stock AC since few choose to keep it. Adding a free-flowing AC is a big factor in the performance improvement realized from a Stage 1 upgrade.

Need some help please, when I use the log tunner and I try to apply the new value file to the origional tune, I get "error loading". Any idea what I am doing wrong? Ive tried many times with no luck. This is my first time doing this, I am following the instructions at the fuelmoto web site, not sure what I have wrong? Any help would be great.
Thanks

I had this issue too when I first tried running Log Tuner. I used the "Enter Code 312945 option" instead of selecting the signals manually. That corrected my problems with the errors I would get when trying to calculate a tune.

Use the code option, make another logging run and try again.

lol................Yes, this one. Sorry, I had it mixed up. The code is in the instructions though. Go to the documentation that came with the PV or go online and download the manual. Instructions for using the "Code Method" are there.

OK, got the Power Vision restored. Where should I start?

The previous owner had the bike dyno tuned during the winter months here in Arizona and I have no access to the stock tune. It is now warming up here and the bike is starting to run like carp. I have power loss when accelerating, decel poppping between 1400 and 2100 RPM. Engine temperature seems to max out at about 273* in stop and go traffic and about 248* on the freeway travelling at 75MPH.

My bike is a 2004 Ultra Classic, 88CI, Harley SE Stage 1 AC, Rinehart TrueDual exhausts.

As far as I know, that is the only performance improvements on the bike.

Since I am new to tuning an EFI bike, just would like some pointers on where to start. I have about a half hour of logging for my ride home from work which is a mix of stop-go and about 10 minutes on the freeway.

I would like to build a couple of tunes for winter and summer months as well as a power and economy tunes.

Thanks all!

Do you know what it was tuned with?? SE race tuner, Powercommander, or? If you want to start with the stock tune go to your dealer and ask to have ecu reflashed on Digital Tech to the latest stock tune. There should be no charge for the calibration and minimal charge for the labor to do it. At our shop we need at least a 1/2 hour charge just to break even with the cost of labor for the service writer and the tech salaries.

Wish you were in Arizona. The HD store here (initials are coincidentally BS) wants me to buy a Stage 1 "calibration" kit and a Harley tuner to load the Stage 1 calibrations on it. The estimate is a little over $900 for this (dis)service. He said because it has a Stage 1 kit and non-stock exhausts on it, he can not just load the "Stock" onto it and has to load a Stage 1 calibration, which needs the Harley tuner. He also said that using the Power Vision and not a Harley tuner will void the Extended Warranty I have on my bike.

The service manager and the store manager will not budge. I will try another shop this weekend.
