Default License Plate Lighting

I bought the licence plate holder to relocate to under the tail light. I also got the lights that double as attaching hdwr. My question is where do I connect to a power lead? I am concerned about an open circuit with water. Any help would be appreciated

You tap into the running light lead on the tail light. It is the wire that has 12v + present all the time. The other + wire is brake, black = ground.

No worry about water, 12v DC is harmless at low current and it is all fused. Just tape up the exposed wires well.

Your brake light has 3 wires...

Black - Ground

Red w/ Yellow tracer - Brake power

Blue - Tail light power/Running light..... This is your hot....

Follow this back to the bigger plug that is on the side of the circuit board... Find the blue wire in that harness, and tap in to this wire inbetween the fender plug and the circuit board plug.....

Don't electrical tape it....

Solder and heat shrink is the best way to prevent corrosion and breakage.....
