I knew you know, it just came out wrong, the only reason I corrected you was to not confuse others.

Default 2009 Fatboy map question

I just bought the SEPST along with the CD and cables and need to know which map to start with use.I have scanned through them all and none seem to match. I have VH big radius 2-2 pipes and the SE Heavy Breather air cleaner. Thanks

Quick question. Can I do the initial installation of a sepst or does the dealer need to?
I found one from Lake Shore Harley on Ebay for $459 including the cable kit and both cd's.
Not real happy with the Tmax and want to try this.
Thanks.

Probably get it much cheaper from Zannoti's but yes. It is a DIY tool. I take it you are talking about the Super Tuner and not the Street Tuner.

You should be able to. What you do is connect it to the bike with cables provide, and the software loaded onto the computer. It should bind to your bike. It isn't a device you install per say. It is a box that you use as a dongle between your computer and Harley Davison's data port.

After installing the seprt should I have the bike dynoed or will the map get me close enough?? I do have moderate mechanic skills, but I am not a computer genious and don't want to screw up my bike.

You can;

1. Tune it yourself
a. Upload the appropriate map
b. Do Data Run
c. SmartTune
d. Repeat b and c until only slight changes are suggested
2. Pay a Dyno Tuner

Really depends on what you personally want. A Dyno Tune will deliver more, but tuning yourself is somewhat satisfying and certainly adequate for most street applications.

Hi
I want a tuner! Got V&H slip ons and want to put a K&N High Cap Air Cleaner on and a Tuner. But I'm getting conflicting information from my HD part guy and the HD Dyno guy. I got an 08 dyna FXDC with the 7 year warranty. The parts guys are telling me that if I go to the K&N & tuner it will void my warranty? The Dyno guy says it shouldn't change anything. I cant find anything that states if you do this it will void the warranty.
