SEPro/SEStreet Tuner Information Thread
#3701
I have a 2019 Street bob With SE street tuner I just picked up from Harley. Its my understanding that this is useless at tuning VE tables an tIming?
My question,is it possible to get SE Super pro tuner to allow full access to tables/tune and adjustability?
That would be comparable with my bike?

Not useless, but in order to meet CARB/EPA/DOT requirements, means limited adjustments (+/- 4% cruise/idle areas, +/- 10% WOT). If you use only SE stage 1/2 components, and the street tuner has a map for the combo, it will be adequate. Aftermarket (non EPA legal) Stage 1 (non-cat pipes/hi flow AC), FP3 is adequate. If you want to modify beyond that, get a TTS or Power Vision tuner, consult with a local tuner for device preference.
There are no SE Super Tuner maps available for the 2019 models.

The software looks at the VIN, specifically the 10th digit to determine year. Since the Super Tuner was eliminated post EPA agreement, and the program terminated post 2018 model year, it may not even recognize the 2019 VIN as valid. You're welcome to speculate, but because the 2018 ECM part number (41000668) is different from the 2019 (41000599) part number, I do not believe it will work.

Record function
Hook the VCI to the cables, plug the bike side in, and PC side in. Put the VCI in record mode. (Not smart tune, as this mode retards timing and leans the AFR out)
Disconnect the VCI-PC cable from the VCI, and stash the VCI in the saddlebag, still hooked up to the bike. Take a short ride to get the bike up to operating temp. Pull over someplace safe, & open bag, and press the red button on the VCI to start recording. Secure the VCI back in the bag, and take a typical ride, hitting cruise below 60, and cruise above 60. When you get back, hit the red button to stop recording, reconnect the VCI-PC cable, download the recorded data file, then turn the bike off. Open/review the data to see if there is significant engine temp changes above/below 60, or if it's an air movement across your legs phenomenon. If you need help interpreting data, you can post the file here.

reloaded software, entered all 1’s. Red light came on finally on the VCI. No communication with computer. Reset the cables and cycled the ignition and run switch. Red light went out and incorrect vci message came back
