we have yet to know who is behind the SEPST maps, where they were developed & finished. what fine tuning was done on the base map. a few years ago there were tuning gurus here that would add 5% across the board to VE after several data runs were used for corrections.

MyTune does a great job with timing corrections, but be careful if using the SE Pro Tuner as the VCI data often include large artifacts (12-55 degrees of timing!) at the very end of the data stream (generated from shut down of the bike). If you do not exclude these cells, your timing map could be way off. I just run MyTune and add the corrections by hand rather than copying the entire tables for Frt and Rear. Only way to prevent these artifacts on my bike is to haul a laptop with me for SmartTune Live data collection and then stop the recording and save it BEFORE shutting off the bike. No artifacts that way.
When you shut off bike before turning off the VCI record you lose the recording. You need to explain this further as it is the first time anyone has mentioned it.

I agree My Tune does take the guess work out, and it has a better read of the data log IMO to correct the VE. $30?

same here.. and this works great for many other tuning devices also.
every once in a blue moon I'll use it for smoothing VE tables a tad bit but that's usually for the guy who wants to see a pretty table. The bike, as it's running and recording data in everyday riding scenarios (aside from a dyno naturally) is your best bet for VE determination.

Question on the "reset adaptive fuel" does this need to be checked every time you load your smart tune map after merging new data with it? Seems like since it's the same map but with just a few updated cells that you would not need to reset the adaptive fuel but I don't know for sure and thought I would ask the experts.

probably not or it would not be optional. it will in time set for any changes.
however if you are going for another data log, then why not reset, and perhaps that is best

I need help with my SE PRO TUNER.
Set up=
- 14 FLHTK
- Stage 1, K&N Hi Flow
- Rinehart True Duals
- 14,300 miles
- Engine temps are OK
- Mileage is OK
In the last month the bike is not running "smoothly" =
- rougher idling
- increasingly sluggish from 1st
- At highway speeds in 6th At 2900 RPM it feels like the lower end is a "lotto ball" machine
I have the software and cables.
Input & guidance appreciated, Jim (PS - Dyno tuners around here want $500+ to hand tune.)
