I have never understood why the high peaks and troughs are there. As you say, you would expect a reasonably smooth transition as you accelerate.

All maps do tend to have these peaks and troughs though. Whether they are owner-produced after smart tuning, dyno produced or canned from the moco. This tends to make me believe the flows are genuine rather the numbers being a product of errors in the process that produced the maps.

I could speculate its down to changes in flow at certain resonant frequencies in the gas flow, where pulses of back-pressure occur, but I'd just be guessing.

I think im getting too far ahead of myself! First i need to find out if I have an exhaust leak. Im thinking soapy water in a spray bottle and look for bubbles! Would this work or is there a better way?

You are thinking tires. Those bubbles will bounce all over the place from vibration. A simpler, less messy approach is just to hold a lit lighter around the junctions or other suspicious areas. Any exhaust leaks will blow the flame around or out. Good luck!

Haha, ok. The only junction is at the head. Dont think I could get a flame in there even if i wanted to!?!

Cant say ive seen a flexible one before, but then I've never looked for one. I think that would work well, it just makes me nervous putting a flame below the fuel tank thanks for that!!

I used an incense stick. Light it, let it start to smoke. Hold it near suspected leak

The trad way to do it is to put a 1/2 teaspoon of engine oil in each spark plug hole. Put the plugs back in and run the engine. Will be very smoky for a minute or two. Put a bunched up rag loosely over the end of the exhaust and the smoke will come out of any other holes.

UltraN , can u explain how I can use my SEPRT to data log and then view my VE percentage difference from my flashed tune vs data logging.. I assume you can't do this with narrowband O2 sensors and will require wideband sensors for a more accurate view ? please correct me if I am incorrect.

weather has been cold and rain here and haven't even been able to have my first ride yet !!
