Okay, new on the board here and have seen some good stuff. Need some help with the SEPST. Have a 2013 FLHTK w/stage 1 kit and Python slash cuts. Seems no matter what I do the engine pings in the 2500 to 3100 RPM range. I have tried to decrease the timing, richen the fuel mix to no avail. Any thoughts would be appreciated. I have run about 7 recordings and updates using the smart tune feature. Thx in advance!

Can you hear it pinging, or are you going by the log files? If the former, then are you sure you are changing the right cells? The antiknock kicks in a little after the knock event itself, so look at the charts to see what's causing it. If you can't hear it, then it's possible you are one if the many sufferers of phantom knock events. Sometimes it seems the ECM us detecting knocks which just don't exist. I'm not one of those unfortunate (at least so far!) so I'll leave it to someone with more experience to guide you if you think that's the case here. Good luck

The Smart-tune feature does not address timing. See this thread to see how I got rid of it...

Default SE Pro Tuner ? SEST

Are you sure that you are not talking about the Screamin Eagle Super Tuner ?
I didn't think that the Smart Tune feature was offered with a Street Tuner. It also appears that the latest update to the Super Tuner has made changes to the smart tune function.
Don't want to derail the discussion on the Street Tuner, so if there is a separate discussion going on for the Super Tuner, please attach a link

Default Detonation

Guzz,

Interesting post. I am new to the Forums but not new to the Super Tuner. I also ended up with detonation after building my 2008 Ultra Into a 103 with the 255 cams. After a lot of playing around with Exhausts and Air Cleaners and re running the Smart Tune feature, I decided to have the bike Dyno Tuned at my dealer...big mistake. The only thing that I could see they did was bump up the VE tables by at least 15 percent, which resulted in more detonation. I think that there is a limit to how much fuel you can dump in as more fuel= a larger combustion event and after a certain point you just create a hotter cylinder.
I went back to the base cal from the super tuner menu and guess what...no more pinging.
So now I am back to running the Smart Tune feature, recording the data runs and making changes.

Does SEPro (in the subject line) not refer to the "super" tuner? Certainly much of the conversation in this thread refers to functionality which is not available in the street tuner.
