we need a base tuning map for each model
Lonewolf176, in hindsight I should have gone TTS, at least it has a stage one file to start from.
Ok, I learned that the same model does have the different setting if international.
I beleive you, but point me to where it says that 08-newer with TBW injectors are 4.35 gm/sec injector.
I have searched the net, the service manual and have not found this.

Cd user manual? all you need is there?
The cd manual actually has all the info you need. All you have to do is read. If you are going to use "Smart Tune" it has a step by step guide that a 10 year old could follow. The latest update has maps up through 2010 as they are Lambda based maps and not the standard ratio based maps. The instructional dvd is ok but only goes over all the info already in the software. It ain't rocket science. Heck rocket science ain't rocket science if you know what I mean. Read, listen, learn, try -if you get less than a satisfactory outcome, Repeat.
It did not say that my 2010 Street Glide is international and so set the tuning setup accordingly.
The software has been updated, no doubt since Lambda is now displayed. Some of the .dt0 calibration files do have a last modified date in 2010, but did you know that if you change the description of what year bike the file can be used for and save it then it will show modified even though the actual maps were never touched, just saying. The user manual refers to the TC 88 engine, but never to the TC 96, or 103.
I keep saying we need a starting point for each stock model we want to improve, we first need the existing settings to build on.
That would be the stock map, perhaps the stage 1 map, and then improve on it. Trial and error takes time.

so I picked 009FY002 as the closest, that was last week, and I have loaded it to VCI and done data runs and smart tunes and so on.
AFR table, no problem, VE table smart tune can take care of, now the spark advance tables. I have viewed the data runs and see how the ECM ignores the spark table (map), and smart tune does not update them to what was used per data run. many more data runs and I will start to do so manually.
This week
2011 touring-1580 ''All Market' SE A/C & Race Exhaust O.E. O.E. O.E. O.E. 44AAG002
I am now looking at this one to see where the differences may be.
Me, I think that a race exhaust requires a different spark advance map than a slip-on or stock.
For that reason I ask, does anyone have a stock or stage 1 (2010 Touring) map for spark advance front and rear?

The Smart Tune process doesn't update the timing tables and in fact uses a milder timing curve since the AFR table is set to 14.6 across the board.
If you do data runs with out checking Smart Tune you will likely see the ignition curve to be closer to the values in the timing tables.
I have been tweaking my timing tables and I would be interested in knowing your process for this.

Success, time to ride
-009FY002.dt0 is the right file for 2010 Touring.
-The injectors (brown top) are 4.35 g/sec and the 2011 catalogue has it listed that way.
-The ECM seems to have a built in auto adjust for spark advance and that is why the data can be different from the set value
-running AFR at 14.3/1 in closed loop from stock 14.6/1, still BOLD, engine temp did come down from high of 290~ to 260~
After a nice discussion with the tech at the dealer I was told it is the stage 1 file once data runs are done and the VE updated. I went in ready to pay to get the stage 1 download and was told no need to. The spark advance table is their basic, same as the stock, he says. I still think there is a difference because the bike goes like greased lightning now.

SEPT & EFI questions
I recently purchased a 2008 Screamin Eagle Ultra, 12/2010, and it now has 3200 miles on it. It is totally stock with the exception of V & H Ovals for exhaust. This morning when i started it up to leave work I noticed it was idling higher than normal then i noticed that both exhaust tubes were glowing red from the heads down about 6 - 8 inches within a few minutes of starting. I left work, hopped on freeway and when i got off freeway, about 11 miles, it was still idling high and there was still a glow to the pipes. I did notice that i could roll the throttle back a lil and the idle would drop, I made sure I wasnt in the rear cylinder cut off mode. Any thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated.
Another question, I like to maintain my bikes myself, totally, and am interested in maintaining my maps in the ECU. I am looking for the best hardware/software combo that I can purchase to hook up and modify as needed. I am an electrical tech so I am familiar with the various sensors but I do not own a dyno. One more question, where or how can I find the internal specs of my motor like cam type and other items i may need to know for tuning. Thanks in advance for your help, Tino
