Default I have some questions

I have '10 ultra. Put supertrapp 2 into 1 and SE air cleaner. I was told by the dealer that he could do a dyno tune for 3 hours labor cost, or do a download and "tweak" it on the dyno for 1 hour labor cost. I'm thinking I can buy the software and cables for about the same cost as the 1 hour deal and learn as I go. I'm thinking that I will do a download then do Smart tune. I already bought the tuner ("C" version)
Can I use a friend's copy of the software and load it on to my computer, or do I need to have the disc in while using the program?

I think the software will work, but you will need the cables to connect the VCI to bike and computer.

All flashed based tuners are this way, the SERT, SEPST, TTS mastertuner, and Power Commander Vision all marry temselves to your ECM.

So this begs the question............

What if you bike is tuned with the SE and you lose the tuner/buy a bike without the SE tuner

Can you return the ecu to stock without the SE tuner?
So you could tune to your added mods, with another tuner

The tune in the bike isn't specific to the type of tuner, its just a bunch of values in a set of tables. You could use another tuner that updates the tables afterwards to adjust the tune. What wouldn't be a good idea would be to use a bolt-on tuner like a PowerCommander though.
