Default rev limit question on evo

I just installed a Crane Cams HI-4E ignition in my 80ci EVO... The question I have is on setting the rev limit. I have it currently set to 5500. What is the stock and how high can I go?

As for mod's so far to the engine:
-SE intake
-K&N air filter
-Python (V&H bigshots) long shotgun style
-New pistons with cylinders bored 10 over
-Andrews cam 220? I think with adjustable pushrods
-SE dual fire coil with wires (8.8 I think)
-Stock CV carb rejetted

Thanks for the help

stock was 5200.
police 5800
I usually set mine at 5500
they say the stock drive train can rev to 6000 with no problems.

5500 was good for me, and I only hit it rarely, when I wasn't paying attention.

What happens when you hit it? Fuel cut off or just won't do anything more?
