Default What type of Charger to use for storeage?

This will be my first time putting the bike away for the winter. my question is what type of charger does everyone use? I heard trickle chargers, battery tenders. I am putting my bike away next week and want to make sure everything is ok.

Thanks for the advice

well down here in Texas, it's NEVER too cold for storage. :-)

with that said, and not knowing the stress deep cold weather puts on a battery, I would still think the HD Smart Battery Tender should suffice for your needs.

I have been using a battery tender for years on my batteries. It works great, never had a problem. I have the hook-up wired to the battery and the connector comes out below the seat on the left side. Hardly can see it, and easy to plug in.

Been usin Battery Tender Juniors and Plus for 12 years, can't beat em.
If the climates not to harsh, Junior is fine. Saves you a couple of bucks.

I will be keeping it inside my basement in the dead of winter it is about 60 degrees in the basement. I think I will be going with the Battery Tender Juniors I found one at Amazon.com for 27.60 better then the 39.99 at the local shop and better then the 50.00 for the HD one.

Thanks everyone

Yep. Battery tender is what you want. It only charges the battery when needed. You can find them for a lot cheaper than the HD.

1.5 AMP Schumacher from Wally World. Under 25 bucks incl. tax. It has the pigtail for quick connect as well as regular clamps.

+2 for the Shumacher trickle charger from WalMart. I have three of the 2.0 A versions that cost me a whole $15 each!
