Bike S*** the bed
My son went to start his 2006 Dyna. The engine started to crank and then everything died.
There are no lights, horn, or nothing.
I checked all the fuses including the main 40 amp. Both relays are good. There is voltage coming into the 40 amp fuse socket.
All connections are good. The battery is a few months old. There is 12.8 volts when the battery is disconnected. There is 10 volts when I connect it. As soon as the ignition switch is turned on the voltage drops to 0.
My first thought was that the battery was no good. I removed the battery and connected a battery charger to the terminals. When I turned the ignition swithch on I had lights but there was not enough voltage to crank the engine. All of the lights seemed to be working except the odometer light was rapidly flashing.
I'm thinking maybe the ignition switch, Any thoughts?

Either you had a bad battery connection or a defective battery. Your charger probably does not have enough current to start the engine. Did you hook up your battery and try again? Try jump starting by connecting your car battery with jumper cables, bet it will start proving it's a bad connection or defective battery.
