Default wiring in alarm siren ???????

I know H-D sells a siren module.

It's a rip off that the alarm siren is an add on- every alarm in the world has a siren- except for ours, the flashy lights will really slow down the thieves.

I plan to wire in my own siren,
I figure, find the control lead to the flashy lights, wire in a replay, and have the relay trigger the siren or the horn- or both.

Anyone see problems, with this, or have an easier solution?

In the DIY forum is a super easy alarm wiring using a radioshack buzzer. It's over 100db for $6. Super easy.. No relay, well tried and tested.

Thanks for that, here is a link to the softail version:

the RS piezo buzzer is a very flexible unit- i have used that same piezo as a pick up for banjos...

I may still do a relay, should I decide to wire into the horn...

I need piece of mind when touring, so I can get a good nights sleep.

don't bother with the horn. Do two buzzers if needed.

well, that was easy- took 10 minuted including waiting on the soldering iron, to tin the buzzer wires so i could insert into connector.

buzzer not that loud ( don't know if I would hear inside hotel room- I have a dB meter, I'll give it a test one of these days---NO WAY it's the advertised 120dB unless you hold it inside your ear)...but the chirp at least lets me know that it IS armed when i walk away.

I may add another buzzer or wire in horn relay..

The buzzer package said 105db. However I see many people wire in two. My goal would not to make it audible through walls and double pain windows as much as audible to those in the area. Either it's gonna scare them off or it won't.

If you want to be notified inside of buildings then get the pager. But that doesn't help either. A professional should be gone before you get outside.
