My Ol is finicky like that.....replace both of the switches on the right grip

Sorry to hear that you are having the same problem! My ’09 Deluxe is still having that same problem, and I keep getting the same answer from the dealer “we can’t duplicate the problem”! I’ll bet they’ll be able to “duplicate the problem” when the warranty is over! I’m thinking the problem is, indeed, somewhere in those handlebar switches, and I suppose I will eventually end up having to pay to have them replaced!

For what it’s worth, I have not been stranded anywhere, the bike does eventually start! I know this is of no real help to you, but you’re not alone for what that’s worth to you!

I would bet on the kill switch or the start button, possibly dirty or corroded or even a loose wire on them. I would invest in the push button solenoid cover as a failsafe in the meantime. Just my .02 though. Curious to hear what you find out!

After checking all my electrical circuits and plugs I finally realized the only thing I didn't check was the battery in the key fob. Replaced the battery, hit the start button and I'm back in business. $2.47 is a whole lot better than what I was going to have to pay if I took it to the dealer.
