Default mufflers

Can I install a set of slip on mufflers without having to do any other changes? I just want a little rumble over what the stock mufflers sound like. This is a link to what I am looking at.

In general yes so long as you do not additionally modify the intake, i.e. add the SE Air filter, once the intake is modified you will need to retune (SERT/Jets).

That 06 bike runs very lean from the factory and mufflers on an earlier bike would get by. On that bike you may want to use some kind of fuel device that can add a bit of fuel and add the intake also to do the job right and not take any chances. If you burn a valve, your warantee would be out the window when they see you changed something without richening the mixture up . Either way, they would give you some static for most things you do if they aren't a good dealer.

I rode around for about 2 weeks with just the slip-on mufflers. The sound was much better, but you will get a popping from the exhaust due to free flowing exhaust. When and if you go with the SERT and the SC Aircleaner I am willing to bet you'll ask yourself why you didn't do this in the first place. My bike runs so much better now that it can actually breath the way it was intended.

On an 06, I would HIGHLY advise the 1450 Stage 1 Race (not street) cal. It will perform much better if you add slip ons, and you will have a higher RPM limit yayyyy
