I put one in about 4 months ago, no problems yet. We will see when it gets cold how it acts.

Believe it or not, current HD batteries are about the best on the market - except XL and VRSC (Same battery but reversed posts) are small and prone to quick discharging with parasitic drains such as alarms. One thing I would look at for hard starting is that you have GOOD battery cables. By GOOD, I mean a high quality set, not a set where the strands are very fat. If you had 2 cables of same diameter, and one had thicker strands, and one had a higher number of finer strands, the second would be a better cable for current flow and starting in that situation. HD has updated many of their cables over the years and you'll see that they have gone to the fine wires.
