03 Ultra...Guage is very erratic, jumps around even sitting still. Have checked wires at guage,they are tight. Has anyone else had this happen & if so what was the fix. Guage or sending unit? Hate to tear the tank apart if I dont have too. Any easy checks to do? Thanks guys.

 

I have seen this. Many times it is simply the gauge. Luckily they are not very expensive. If you check the signal from the sender, you will see if it is jumping. If not, it's the gauge. If it is jumping, it's most likely the sender or a wire.

 

Thanks , tearing off the fairing now. Hope it is the guage instead of the sender. A lot easier.
