In the middle of a ride yesterday ('08 SG), the sound from my HK stereo started to become garbled intermittently. I thought it might be a reception problem, but the same thing happened when I switched to CD. When I would turn the radio off and then on again, it would improve for a few seconds, but would then degrade again. Now when I turn it on, I see the display but I get no audio at all. Has anyone else had a similar problem?

If you can pul the fairing and test the speakers to see if they are working if so there may be a possibility that the radio outputs are bad, when they were working garbled did it cut out randomly too I had a cust with a similar problem

 

Thanks. I took the fairing off this evening and made sure all the connections to the speakers were good. One seemed a bit loose. Seems to be working now.

 

Common issue with the HK radio. Vibration and heat is the cause. Sometimes it's from a cracked fairing bracket but the damage is done to your HK and you can only get it repaired internally to make it work now.

I don't know if the Audio member that posted above repairs the units but IronCross Audio did my repairs.
