I think what you are looking for is the crank position sensor if that is what you are looking for its the small bolt connected to a rubber plug like thing right by the oil filter its right in front of the filter cant miss it. I had a Yahmaha V-max once that stranded me and that was the problem A lot more complicated to replace on a Yahmaha!!

More info on the bike would be helpful. But assuming it is a TP 107 engine with a compufire coil, it doesn't specifically have a cam pickup sensor. The cam pickup sensor would be for a stock style ignition found on stock EVO engines. You may have a compufire ignition that would be in place of the cam pickup sensor. Either way, it is under the timing "point" plate cover found on the cam cover located near your right foot when sitting on the bike.

Early twin cams had a cam position sensor. Mounted in a hole in the cam chest cover and hidden by the "points" cover plate. I'm not sure how to check it though unless you have the specs.
