Default EFI tune-up..how/what to do

I have a 03 softail, turning 20k..running great but bike is running rich,I smell gas when Idle, and I get horrible MPG.maybe 20. no backfire. or spitting, does run really good..but... was wondering about a EFI tune-up..oh ya stock 88 and just a download Stage 1..has never been dyno or messed with since new, really don't want to spend a ton on race tuner and dyno runs..,So seeing what you guys think it needs to improve...TY

Power Commander USBIII or a SE Race tuner, but you dont want to go that route.
Least expensive way is the Power Commander from Fuel Moto.

Change plugs, clean or service AC and ride. If you feel the need to make more out of it add a couple shots of sea foam to the fuel and ride.

You can not adjust EFI with out some kind of tuner.

About the only efi maintenance is fuel filter, a/c filter and spark plugs. Of the three, plug misfiring (should throw a code) or plugged up a/c filter (not letting in enough air) would cause a rich condition.

A leaking injector or engine temp sensor going bad could also cause a rich condition.
