Default My power commender has died ????

Hi,

Anyone out there with a Power commender of 2007 more or less? My Street Glide doesn't start anymore... And I think maybe the PC is dead... They lights on it are no longer working, and I think in the past they flashed while starting the bike, but I'm not 100% sure...

Anyone could check this for me?

Thanks in advance

Have you tried disconnecting it and just go through the ECM? If it is still not starting, the problem is somewhere else.

No, didn't try that. Is it a good idea to start directly with the ECM having the SE air filter and V&H oval slip ons? Even for some seconds it could be dangerous or not????

What I have tried is connecting the Power Commander with my laptop (with a battery), and there's no communication...

The bike should idle/run fine on the stock ECM, it'll just be lean if you take it out for a ride (which may cause stumbling/hesitation/overheating...or may not)

It wont hurt it.. If it starts you know where your issue is just shut it down.

You will be fine to do that, as mentioned in a previous post, it will be leaned out but for troubleshooting purposes it will not hurt anything.

OK, I did it. Everything works fine without the Power Commander... It starts at first cranck at it goes 100% right...

What do I do now?

Should I avoid riding like this?

Can I go 50 miles to my dealer or not?

Alternatives? Another PC? Or does Harley makes something better now? In 2007 I knew well, but now I'm lost...

THANKS

Do you have the stock air cleaner?

It might be worth putting it back on to ride it to the dealer with stock programming.

If not, try riding it as-is, if it doesn't stumble/hesitate it's probably not lean enough to hurt anything.

If it were me I'd order up a PC V from a sponsor here. And hit the grind running. Your warranty is out on that one right?

I do not have the stock air cleaner...

The FLHX is out of warranty...

I also think the best option is buying another PC and installing myself, as I did with this one...
