Default Help, broken throttle cable!

Snaped off five miles from home, coasted into a friends garage, left it there for the night.
I live three hours from a HD shop.
If they don't have one I may be able to find a used one from a bike that had the stock cables swapped for braided or apes.
Can someone tell me what will fit my 99 Ultra EFI so I can possibly salvage my weekend riding?
What I'm asking is are most cables the same for say Glides and Roadkings?
Will a cable off of a carbed bike work.
Will all 88 inch touring bikes be using the same throttle cable?
Will a Delphi cable fit a Magnetti Marelli bike?
Do I need to remove the tank to change the cable?

Default RE: Help, broken throttle cable!

I would say, if you pull your broken cable off and take it with you make sure the length and the thro(exposed amount of cable) are the same it should work. If you just broke the ferule off the end, get a small fishing weight and crimp it on the end to get you home, there is not a lot of torque on throttle cables. You should also have a push/pull set of cables, swap them, it may not run perfectly but it will get you home.
best of luck,
Woody

I don't know the length of the cable, but give me a few minutes and I will try to find out.
