97 Ultra Fuel Injection Problem

in my service book pn99483-98 for 1998 #16 is battery positive voltage with reference to section/page 9-60.
the quick read is:
code is triggered if ECM sees battery voltage less than 6.2 or greater than 15.5.
says that low voltage typically occurs during activation of starter or it indicates loose connections..high voltage usually faulty regulator..
Consider review of battery, connections at both ends of battery cable and cables at starter.
Consider measure of battery voltage with digital meter with bike off/cranking/idle and high idle.
A loose positive or negative cable could trigger that code.

New battery installed this spring.

I disconnected both terminals from the battery then re-tightened them back up.
Just got back from a 300 mile ride and the "ENG" light stayed off.
And upon starting, it pops right off. No drag.
