HELP!!! Finding out what this wire does and where it attached to

HELP!!! Finding out what this wire does and where it attached to
I have read and re-read my manual but do not know where this wire would ground to.
Ideas of what it might be
1.I thought that is would be the battery but then i found out that it does not reach the terminal.
2. I could have this wire mixed up with the single black wire that I attached to the back left engine mount bolt.
3. It might ground on the starter but I don't think that it will reach.
4. It might ground on a frame bolt but I didn't notice one or possible on the lower battery box mount.
The routing of this double wire runs up into the main harness under the seat. Then it disappears into the huge wire sleeve running to the front of the bike.
Any help would be appreciated
